The wait is over for one of the year’s most hotly anticipated collaborations, with the arrival of LEGO Bluey™ playsets in Australian retailers nationwide.
The wait is over for one of the year’s most hotly anticipated collaborations, with the arrival of LEGO Bluey™ playsets in Australian retailers nationwide this week.
Five new playsets from the LEGO Group and BBC Studios, the co-commissioner, international distributor and licensor of Bluey, have now landed across the globe, unlocking a world of storytelling, imagination and play with Australia’s most beloved TV family.
With each set, families can step into Bluey’s world and iconic Australian experiences, including embarking on a beach road trip; discovering the endless joy of an ice cream trip; and even building Bluey’s famed Queenslander home - complete with Pizza Girls’ pizza, Keepy Uppy balloon, pavlova and longdog.
To celebrate, LEGO Bluey and Bingo builds have made a surprise visit to a LEGO Bluey Ice Cream pop up in Brisbane’s South Bank. The Bluey build is made of 29,224 LEGO bricks, while Bingo is made of 5,306 LEGO DUPLO bricks! The pair took 190 hours to build.
Similar builds of the Heeler sisters will also appear in other countries over the coming months to help mark the global launch of the first ever LEGO Bluey sets.
The LEGO Bluey Ice Cream pop up is a reimagination of the iconic ‘Ice Cream’ episode from season two of the animated TV show, and inspired by the Ice Cream Trip with Bluey set. This week, families can step into the world of LEGO play, and build their own ice cream, in LEGO brick form!
Justine McKenny, Senior Director, Head of Marketing at LEGO Australia and New Zealand, the LEGO Group said: “We’re so excited to welcome the Australian icon that is Bluey and her family to the LEGO portfolio with our new LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO sets. These sets truly allow children and families to unleash their imagination through LEGO building and play out the memorable daily adventures from the show.”
“The LEGO Bluey Ice Cream pop up symbolises the endless potential for creativity, imagination and learning through LEGO play. Just like in the episode, where Bluey and Bingo learn a valuable lime lesson, kids can keep learning through creative play at home with the new LEGO Bluey sets.”
Scott Modra, Director of Brands & Licensing at BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the LEGO Group to bring an exciting new dimension to storytelling and play. Seeing Bluey’s world come to life through LEGO play is a true delight, and a wonderful way for families and fans to connect with the show and create joyful, playful memories together. This collaboration showcases the best of BBC Studios’ storytelling legacy and the LEGO brand’s creativity, inspiring engagement across generations.”
All LEGO Bluey sets promise to bring joy and creativity to families, continuing the tradition of learning through play.
Builders aged 2 and up can enjoy hands-on play adventures as they create and imagine with two sets from LEGO DUPLO - Bluey’s Family House with Memory Game (3+) and Ice Cream Trip with Bluey (2+).
The three LEGO 4+ products are crafted to be easy, enjoyable, and engaging, all while considering the developmental stages of 4-5-year-olds and centered around sharing, imagination, and creative thinking. The range includes Bluey’s Family House, Bluey’s Beach & Family Car Trip, and Playground Fun with Bluey and Chloe.
The five LEGO Bluey sets are available now in Australia at major retailers, department stores and specialty toy retailers.
